This surgery molds and/or relocates the ears for a more natural appearance.
Several incisions are made in the posterior groove that attaches the ears to the head; cartilage is molded leaving no visible scars and resulting in a very natural shape.
1 ½ hours
The patient returns to normal activities in three days; sutures are reabsorbed.
On the first visit your surgeon will evaluate the size, angle and position of the ears and recommend the most appropriate technique and give you advice before surgery.
Surgery otoplasty or ear correction can be performed under local anesthesia and sedation (most common in adults and children) or under general anesthesia in the case of young children.
The dressing is removed after seven days, being replaced by a rubber band that has to wear day and night for the first week and sleeping during the first month to prevent the ears are folded forward due to a bad position during the dream.
After removing the initial dressing should wash the wound daily with soap and water.
During the first month it has been to avoid any activity that forces the ear forward, a gym for at least two weeks, swimming pools, saunas, steam, riding, driving motorcycle, sun exposure.
Normally the patient can return to work after five days of surgery.
